- Daily Activities – assistance with self-care activities during the day or evening
This assistance may include personal care and it refers to supporting personal hygiene, toileting and can include dressing and maintaining your personal appearance. In some cases it may also include bathing, showering and it also includes bed baths. It’s about supporting you in your self care and the support is provided during the day or evening.
- Social and Community Participation assistance
This support is provided to allow you to participate in social and community activities. It allows you to meet people with similar interests and you can join in social and community activities. It means that you can do what others do, you can go where others go and you can do it with other people. You can choose the activities you enjoy or activities you want to partake in. Social and community participation can also mean going to your local cafe, joining a sport team such as basketball, bowling or even fishing with a friend, it may mean participating in a craft class, doing some volunteer work or getting some work experience.
